Throw it on a background vocal bus for hauntingly rich tones.

Experimentation will always be key when it comes to recording and mixing music, we suggest. Of course it has a few more, but those are just a select few of my favorites.

Octave+1-1: Classic Shimmer sound with long trail.

Daul Reverse: Octave + reverse with modulated echo.

Taj Mahal: Cut out the low end, and leave a long trail.

Black Hole: a massive swirl of color and sound with a long decay.

Each has a specific function, and turning one even slightly can drastically alter your sound, thankfully if you’re a little intimidated you can stick to tweaking some of the prepackaged presets such as… This little guy comes packaged with nine flexible adjustable knobs, that are able to be tweaked in real time without clipping your sound. Valhalla Shimmer is an algorithmic reverb designed for BIG sounds, from concert halls to the Taj Mahal to the Halls of Valhalla. Alright, so what does it do, besides sit pretty using barely any CPU? Well the short answer, adds some reverb, the long answer… Strap in for this one. The title alone just sounds beautiful doesn’t it? Seriously, every time I boot this guy up I half expect Mads Mikkelsen to stop by and whip my tone into shape.
